"imagination is more important than knowledge."

- albert einstein

Samara spends hours looking into the skies through her telescope. One night, she peers hard, and sees a castle floating on the clouds. Who lives there? How can she fly up to find out?

Isn’t it amazing how children can fantasize the wildest of ideas? Walruses in volcanoes, machines that grow in size, a zombie in a faraway galaxy, an evil witch who finds a strange box… Don’t discount these as figments of imagination. Wild ideas lead to amazing discoveries, terrific inventions, and, least of all, a holistic development. Stories are known to kindle social, emotional, creative, physical, lingual, and problem-solving skills in children. All we need to do is listen to the tales (tall or short) that children tell.

This workshop aims at channelizing children’s imagination to help them create fabulous stories that sing, dance, and fly. Folklores, fairytales, fables, fiction, biographies – the workshop introduces children to the gamut of tales in popular culture, helps them understand the elements that are common in every story, and then build some of their own. The Hive will also share some recipes for memorable stories.
