Purva Shah

A mother with stories to tell

Purva is a young mother and an entrepreneur, who believes that stories are the best way to build a child’s creativity, language, and character. It is this belief that has led her to conduct storytelling programmes during her experience as an educator. She has conducted workshops for kids as young as 2 year old and has also taught Senior KG students.

Purva has a treasure trove of more than 100 indigenous storybooks with tales from our land that she would like to share with children other than hers too. She has a keen interest in Montessori education and early learning practices and has implemented them with her own daughter.

“i have no special talent. i am only passionately curious.”

 - albert einstein

How did those fluffy cotton balls get in the sky? Where does the sun hide at night?

And voila, how did my mustard seed turn into a green blade poking through the soil?

Imagine a child spending time observing the clouds to identify their colours or sowing seeds to observe how things grow! Or think how enriching it would be if kids could explore the different states of India and their cultures.

Children are born curious and they learn the best through observation, exploration, questioning and interaction. If this curiosity is nurtured through different experiences and opportunities, research says that it leads to a confident, independent and creative individual

Stories are often the best hook to nurture children’s inborn curiosity. This workshop aims at building awareness about self and the world around us with stories as anchors. This would be followed by activities that are sensorial, hands-on, and creative - be it making puppets, performing an experiment, counting beans, rolling chapatis, sowing seeds and nurturing plants, cutting & pasting in a scrapbook, learning to "read" pictures, doing a little jig on a catchy number, or just making some clay laddoos.
