snap, clap, & sway
ghumo garba ne taal

Navratri is a time for merriment - of tapping feet to rhythmic beats, and swinging in sync with music that is both devotional and fiery. But twirling, whirling, spinning, and swaying don't come naturally to all. A little practice ahead of the nine-night festival can go a long way in ensuring that you move in harmony with friends, family, and the beats at play.

Learn the basics of garba during a 12-session class covering the quintessentials for those fun evenings. Familiarise yourself with Be Taali, Tran Taali, Dodhiyu, Popatiyu, Hudo, Hinch, Dandiya-Raas, Tipni, Garbi, and a potpourri of other folk forms popularly seen during Navratri. What's more, learn to lip sync on some traditional songs as you sit, sing, and lose yourself in the snap-clap meditative crooning of betha garba.
