Kruti Shah

Communications Professional, Academician,

Founder, The Hive

Kruti's first evidence of confident communication was a doodly letter she wrote to her parents at age four – rationalizing her right to late night outings. Her other notable works include poems discovered on the back of her economics notebook, and prank notes to a few confounded classmates.

Some of her more serious writing has been has been published by the Tata McGraw Hill as advertising and promotions texts. Kruti has also penned ‘The Aquila Trials’ – a medical thriller inspired by her research stint for anti-HIV drugs, which has received appreciation from the medical fraternity and reading buffs alike.

Further surprises abound when in spite of her reserved disposition, Kruti stole the news headlines in 1997 by winning the ‘Times of India Public Speaking Trophy’ in college. As well as the local Ms. Personality contest!

Kruti has been an educator since childhood – from pretend playing as a teacher to schooling kids on the streets and teaching executives in premier business institutes. She often expresses herself through Bharatnatyam and Kuchipudi dances, rangolis based on Escher designs, and quite regularly, through endless conversations with her daughters.

the programme.

Swimming near a coast,

In search of tea and toast,

A pod of snoopy young dolphins,

Discover a wooden tube, not muffins.

Playfully they nudge with snouts,

The tube gives out sounds, no doubts,

A deep hum fills the sea,
“It’s a didgeridoo!” they cheer with glee!

And before long, the ocean is abuzz with strange, rhythmic sounds. (Of course, the story ends with the dolphins finding their jelly & fish too!) Likewise, this programme is about discovering your own music, your voice – and projecting it using various tools of communication. Bring along the curiosity and playfulness of dolphins, be unafraid to blow your notes, and persist – until rhythm and melody fill the air (or the waters)!
