Shradha Jain
An enterprising gamemaster
If there’s one person who can be credited for kicking off the boardgame revolution in Ahmedabad, it is Shradha Jain. After passing out from NID with a degree in Film and Video Communication, Shradha founded her game design outfit Studio.Clock.Works. Shradha’s love for Ahmedabad led to her entire family shifting base from Ludhiana, and settling in her newfound Karma Bhoomi. Restaurant Dilliwale, a family venture, gave Ahmedabadis a taste of authentic chaats and daals, needless to say with a side of easy tabletop games.
Shradha’s contagious enthusiasm, combined with a heady mix of visual design skills, and an entrepreneurial spirit heralded the Tuesday Game Nights at Café Otenga. Game Master Shradha ended up connecting young & old craving for a stimulating interaction. Shradha’s callings are boardgames and Ahmedabad, and despite her move to Bangalore’s Srishti School of Art Design & Technology, she visits her alma mater town at the slightest excuse.
Shradha will offer her expertise in game play concepts and development.

analyze | strategize | socialize
from bored to board games
Are you tired of playing luck-based games where you are at the mercy of a dice? Have you had enough of even strategy-oriented games that lack variety, such as Chess? Then it’s time to ring in Euro-style board games – a fun way to engage entire families.
The excuse is to bring people closer – everyone from 5 to 105 year olds – by presenting engaging games that children, parents, and grandparents can all enjoy. But the benefits of Eurogames go far beyond. Not only do they strengthen relationships, but also boost brain functions by encouraging logical thinking, decision-making, and complex thought processes such as higher-level strategic thinking, and problem solving. What’s more, there’s so much variety, you’ll never tire of game sessions.
As a sweet takeaway, build your own games from readily available resources. So get going… you can either pay your way, or make your way to games!

1. What resources will I need for this workshop?

Plenty of enthusiasm and an open mind. To make your own games, you'll need some basic art & craft supplies like colours, scissors, glue, cardboard, chart paper, etc. For some games we might also upcycle old game pieces like tiles, cards, pegs/meeples, etc. Once you register, we'll send you a list of resources needed. Worry not if you don't have everything - you can get creative and find your own substitutes.

2. Will we play the games online?

We will display and demonstrate select games, and show you how to build some of them yourselves. We will also share puzzles or scenarios from these games. While we won't be able to play the games virtually, you can play them later with your families or friends. Share your experiences with us over our game channel on Discord.

3. How many games will be taken up in the workshop?

That depends on the dynamics of the gamers, but we plan to cover about 5-6 different games over three days.
