"the key to learning is an awareness of where you lack understanding"

What is The Connect?

The world around us is changing faster than ever before, and traditional education establishments are struggling to keep up. Trending careers are changing before we graduate, software is becoming outdated the minute we download it, fashion is redefined before we wear the same outfit twice, blockchains are changing the way we invest, emoticons are redefining the norms of communication, and the list goes on.

How then, do we stay current? Udemy and Khan academies are for the informed learners, the media is often biased, and the grapevine is hardly reliable. But what if experts shared their experience and perspective through interactive sessions? How about knowledge in a capsule that would otherwise take us hours of research and validation?

“The Connect,” as the name suggests, is a humble attempt to bridge the gaps in modern day learning through a buffet of interactive workshops and talks that allow us to find the right match for our interest, needs, and quirks. ☺ The purpose is to build better awareness and enable informed choices, be they in the field of education, career, or our inner conscience.

1. Is it a workshop or a talk?
This is an interactive discussion where, as a group and as individuals, you will think through some of the factors to be able to get clarity on various aspects in education – right from selecting a school, subjects and college for your child.
2. Would this be career counselling or therapy?
It is guidance from some of the experienced people in education and other fields more than counselling. Counselling needs more one on one interactions on a regular basis whereas these are standalone sessions. It definitely is not therapy.

3. Who will be the facilitators for different sessions?
They will be people from education and other fields who can share their knowledge, understanding and experience to guide and build better awareness amongst the participants.
4. Do I need to bring any resources for these sessions?
We would like you to come with a curious mind and we will provide for all the resources.
5. What safety precautions will be taken at The Hive?
We will be working in small groups. Our instructors and staff are fully vaccinated. Masks are recommended when indoors or within close proximity. However, the participants are responsible for their own health & safety.
