Shruti Alok
A Meditative Nature Lover
Shruti is a Landscape Designer from Yoga Nursery and Sakuteiki Gardens. Her journey with nature began from her childhood when she spent a lot of time outdoors with music, painting, and other introspective activities. Growing up, she realized that nature was connected to life, and was life itself.

Shruti was attracted to a form of Buddhist meditation – an open-eye technique – that taught her to live in the present by doing things mindfully. Shruti aspires to spread this realization, and her love for nature, amongst those willing to take a pause in their fast-paced lives.
beautiful greens for urban homes
mindfulness with mini gardens
What if you could have a garden in a goldfish bowl? Would you still complain about the lack of space in your urban home? Say hello to terrariums – miniature gardens inside small, see-through containers. Terrariums are a fully functional ecosystem, enclosed in their unique little world. They are a beautiful, creative, and interesting way of keeping plants at home – perfect for city-dwellers with no gardens, and little time & space for plants.

Create your very own terrariums in this workshop. But do it mindfully, as Shruti takes you on a meditative journey to connect with nature and your own self. Oh yes, you can meditate with open eyes, as Shruti will demonstrate. With music, incense, and a mood to match. Who says you have to seek the Himalayas in your greying years?
