Kunjal Shah

A passionate educator

Kunjal has 20 years of experience teaching toddlers. She is an amazing storyteller and her stories are loved by all age groups. She is extremely passionate about educating toddlers and making them independent individuals.

Kunjal is professionally trained in the Montessori method of teaching. Her program and practice is inspired from what Madam Maria Montessori said - "The most important period of life is not the age of university studies but the first one, the period from birth to the age of six." With this as her focus, Kunjal designs her programs that not only enhance learning but also build happy memories for both the toddler and the mother. Being part of the First Step from the day of inception, she understands the milestones and needs of the changing generation of the kids. This makes her program rich and meaningful for the young ones and their parents.

Purva Shah

An enthusiastic storyteller, she has reached out to many children with her fantastic treasure of stories. At First Step, her primary role is to be the backend support that is much required for any program to be a success.

First Step @ The Hive offers you the Mother Toddler Program that is to nurture this beautiful relationship and make you, the parent, participate meaningfully in the developmental journey of your toddler.

WHAT is the Mother Toddler Program?

A toddler is a child between the age of 12 to 36 months. They are typically at a stage where exploration and skill development begins and leads the child from being dependent to independent. They need stimulation through an environment and resources that are well structured and yet provide scope to explore and move at their own pace. The Mother Toddler Program is exactly that - a well planned opportunity for a toddler to explore, grow and learn in a safe environment with you as a partner in this journey.

WHY the Mother Toddler Program?

Research says that in the first few years of a child’s life almost one million neural connections are formed. The quality of experiences, opportunities and environment builds the foundation of the years to come.

HOW is the Mother Toddler Program at First Step?

First Step offers a comprehensive, research-based program with developmentally appropriate practices. Along with this, the experience and training of the team has led the program to be a combination of best practices in education around the world such as Montessorie, Play Way, and Reggio Emilia.

It offers responsive daily routines and meaningful experiences that nurture learning and development. It provides opportunities for stronger bonds through involvement of the parent in the growth journey of their child.

What it does not offer is speed learning, pure academic program, and preparedness for any competition. As milestones suggest, the toddler age group is typically at the onset of developing independence in exploration. Although the program may expose the child to multiple activities, a toddler’s ability to make sense and understand is only limited, also they can be really unpredictable and may not like to do a particular activity on a particular day or always.

As parents, you might feel impatient to get busy and get your child to the activity . You want to get started "doing something." But to kids, this exploration is doing something. Rather than rushing along, we will handhold you to take a deep breath and make new discoveries together.

PARENT SUPPORT  Program with First Step

As a team we do understand this frustration and therefore offer a special program for hand holding the parents during your time with us. The influence and support of a parent can play a vital role during a child’s personal and educational development. First Step @ The Hive has specially designed workshops for new & experienced parents through the duration of the programme. Each of these workshops will be conducted by experts in the field (some of them will be a part of the program, while few would be paid workshops)
