An Indoor Plant Expert

Sejal Shah is an avid indoor plant lover. As a homemaker, her interest and passion in indoor plants began from her own home, while tinkering with different plant arrangements. Over past several years she has been practicing the art of Bonsai and Kokedama.

 

She believes that having indoor plants increases peace and tranquility of the surrounding space, and improves air quality. Sejal aspires to achieve urban reforestation and beautification with plants. She is excited to share her knowledge and expertise via this workshop.

Are you looking for green ornaments to fill the corners of your home? Your search has come to fruition, for we are back with another edition of our mini gardens with Kokedama Art. Kokedama is a centuries old Japanese Bonsai variety that can bloom indoors.

 

Through this introductory workshop, learn the art of binding plants into green mossy orbs, and the tricks & techniques of making Kokedama. Understand how to care for your new adornment with Sejal’s expert décor tips – everything from knowing about the moss and the soil to ways of watering the plants. Bring a dash of green to your indoor space with this freeform hanging moss accent. Don’t forget to propagate a piece of plant at home to gift someone special with Kokedama.

1. What resources will I need to bring for this class?

​

Happy hands, and a love for nature. The Hive will provide the special soil mix for Kokedama, fertilizer, moss, select plants, jute threads/binding material, and anything else required to prepare your Kokedama. Don't forget to bring your masks and sanitizers along.

​

2. What safety precautions will be taken at The Hive?

​​

Our premises are sanitized regularly. We will be working in small groups and social distancing norms will be strictly followed. Masks are compulsory when indoors or within close proximity. However, the participants are responsible for their own health & safety.

Cancellation Policy: In the unlikely event of The Hive cancelling any of its programmes for any reason, registered participants will be refunded the entire amount within 15 business days. Course dropouts by participants will be eligible for refund as follows: 30+ days before the event - 75% refund; 15-30 days before the event: 50% refund; less than 15 days - 0% refund. Attendee changes can be accommodated up to 14 days prior to the event.
