TIE AND DYE WORKSHOP
Praveena Mahicha is a veteran in the Art of TIE and DYE. She has 30 years long experience of training students at various institutes in various cities of India. During her this journey her art has been recognized and rewarded with many awards like State hand-loom and handicraft award in 2017, Manu-The power of women ( Gold Medal ) in 2020 and so on and so forth.
Praveena has achieved the National Merit certificate as a Master Weaver and is expert in Natual colour dyeing. She has also mastered the traditional art of painting called Mata ni Pachedi, its the image of goddesses on a piece of cloth found in the temple which is of a multicolored animated images of gods and goddesses with a narrative story.

This technique was adapted by different regions of the world having uniqueness of their own, right from Shibori to Jumputan, Bandhani, Ikat, Mudmee.....so on and so forth. Join us in this journey of its history around the globe from Japan to USA all using different techniques of tying. Rekindle your inner pool of creativity and confidence with splash of colours. Learn various patterns from the expert PRAVEENA MAHICHA who has inherited and is practicing this art from generations together.

1. What resources will I need to bring for this class?
The Hive will provide all the material for TIE and DYE workshop. Don't forget to bring your masks and sanitizers along.
2. What safety precautions will be taken at The Hive?
Our premises are sanitized regularly. We will be working in small groups and social distancing norms will be strictly followed. Masks are compulsory when indoors or within close proximity. However, the participants are responsible for their own health & safety.
